Frequently Asked Questions - Party Names


This field identifies the party that receives or responds to the legal threat or action –- for instance, the recipient of a cease-and-desist letter or the defendant in a legal action. If there are multiple parties, list all of them. Names should be written out as they normally appear (first name followed by last name). Multiple names should be separated by semi-colons (";"). For example: “Joe Smith; Sue Smith; Trey Smith". If the legal threat is a lawsuit, the relevant court documents will contain information regarding the parties involved.
