What is the Verdict or Settlement Amount field?
This field notes the amount of money that a party has been ordered to
pay or has agreed to pay. In the case of a verdict amount, it is the
amount the judge or jury has determined is owed to the prevailing
party. In the case of a mutual settlement, it is the amount one party
agrees to pay to the other. The amount entered should be a numeric
value -- ie. "$2,500,000" -- equaling the total amount of any payments made as a result of
the legal threat. Please do not use abbreviations like "$2.5 Million."
