If some one files a police report that some one took something is this grounds for defamation in Florida ?

I can't give you legal advice on your specific situation, but Florida generally grants a "qualified privilege" to statements made to police -- a category that likely includes police reports. See Fridovich v. Fridovich, 598 So.2d 65 (Fla. 1992).
The qualified privilege grants the speaker immunity from defamation claims unless (1) the information contained in the report is false and (2) the speaker's primary motivation in making the report was to injure the subject's reputation.
Under this standard, a police report most likely will not be defamatory -- unless it meets both of those criteria.
