Wiretap for Protection

Wiretap for Protection

Hi,

I worked in the Boston Nite Club system in the early 90's. And it came to my attention that there was a good chance my apartment was bugged. I understood for reasons of protection and safety from a police and security perspective that it was necessary but there were other aspects that really kind of got me angry. I mean if the security detail got a warning of a drive by shooting and they used a wiretap to obtain information before it happened. I'm all for that. If the Feds were wiretapping in order to catch someone from harming me. I'm for that too. However, If the wiretaps are being used to gather as much information as possible in order to brainwash, abduct or put into some type of trade that is solicit then no. very bad. Where do you draw the line. I saw some very terrible things that I would not do into detail unless with the right individuals but wow. Back then, I thought some of the veterans of police and gang activity went way too far. Where is that now? Are we growing into fake people that look presentable on the outside but are afraid of speaking and acting openly? I was afraid back then and I am afraid now.

Natural freedom or polished presentable freedom

That leads me to another question. Is that freedom? What if I added in I was being threatened even though I was being monitored. Who is being protected? Drug cartels?
